Here, We Will Pamper Your Pet!

Hi! My name is Allie Vargo & I am a Co-Owner/Pet Stylist Here At It's a Dog's Life

I have been working with animals since I was 10 years old when my mother bought me my 1st horse named Penny.  I currently am a proud mother of my standard poodle known as Nitro, a Saint Berdoodle named Willow, a cat named Springer, my wild child Penny, and my fish called Biggie & Tupac.  I also live with 2 German Shorthairs Pointers known as Dutch & Sadie, a Bassett Hound named Fred, another horse named BEBE, Miss Kitty, and a bunch of geese.  You can say I love animals. WIth this, while in highschool & throughout college, I worked at Southampton Veterinary Clinic seasonally as a kennel assistant/bather. While at college, I volunteered at East Carolina Veterinay Clinic as a veterinary assistant.  After I graduated from East Carolina University with my B.S. in Biology & Business Minor, I intended on furthering my education with a Degree in Veterinary Medicine.  However, due to personal reasons, I decided that I was going to wait a year.  I ended up getting hired with Petsmart as a bather, in which they sent me to their grooming academy to teach me the different hairstyles of each breed of dog.  I fell in love with pet styling and ended up sticking with it.  Soon after getting hired, I bought me my first puppy named Nitro.  You can usually see him sporting new and crazy hair styles.  With this, I grew to want more out of it.  I wanted to be able to pamper the pets the way I wanted to.  At Petsmart, I felt like I couldn't do that.  Thanks to my mother, Jill Vargo, of Southside Gas Service, INC., she gladly let April Cutchins and I borrow the money to help us with this new adventure.......

You can say I have been an animal lover all my life.  My house has never been without an animal of some kind in it.  I own 2 wild labs named Eden & Rook.  I also am the proud mother of my son Lucas.  He is just about as crazy about animals as I am.  With this love for animals I had, I began volunteering at Safari's Pets & Supplies maintaining the care of their pets at age 13.  When I grew older, they ended up hiring me. They gave me more duties to help broadened my knowledge in the store.  In 2005, I began working at Southampton Veterinary Clinic as a kennel assistant/bather.  Soon after getting hired, they began training me as a groomer.  When I first got hired at SVC, my intentions were to gain experience as a vet assistant so later I could get my degree as a Vet Technician.  However, once I began grooming, my mind changed.  Now, I have been grooming ever since.  And raising my son on my own has made me want to better our lives.
